Destination Canada Mobility Forum is an annual event organized by the Government of Canada in Paris and Brussels. It connects Canadian employers and organizations with skilled French-speaking and bilingual candidates in various fields. The forum is open to participation by Canadian institutional representatives (provinces, territories, regions, municipalities, economic development agencies, francophone organizations, etc.) as well as Canadian employers with positions to fill in provinces and territories other than Quebec.

Registration is now open for the 2019 edition of Destination Canada Mobility Forum which will take place Friday November 15, Saturday November 16 and Sunday November 17 in Paris and Tuesday November 19 in Brussels. A preparatory meeting for all Canadian participants will be held at the Embassy of Canada in Paris on Thursday November 14.

Participation is free of charge. Destination Canada will provide the space, tables, chairs, and internet connection. They will also transport display materials (banners, roll-ups) from Paris to Brussels. They don’t cover costs such as travel, taxis, hotel and meals, shipping documents and promotional material to Paris and or Brussels from your company address. You must also arrange your own transportation from Paris to Brussels.

LMIA exemptions under the International Mobility Program

Most candidates will be eligible for Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exempt work permits under the International Mobility Program, in the following streams:

The Mobilité Francophone stream exempts employers from the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process when they hire francophone workers in managerial, professional and technical/skilled trades occupations from abroad to work outside of Quebec.  You will find details on eligibility and how to apply in the attached bilingual information sheet.  Positions in skill levels 0 and A are eligible for 2-week processing under the Global Skills Strategy.

International Experience Canada (IEC) provides youth, aged 18 to 35, with the opportunity to travel and work in Canada.  Participants in the Working Holiday category obtain an open work permit valid up to 24 months.  With a job offer that contributes to their professional development, participants in the Young Professionals category obtain an employer-specific work permit valid up to 24 months.  Students with a job offer for a work placement or internship in Canada can obtain an employer-specific work permit valid up to 12 months in the International co-op (Internship) category.  France, Belgium and Switzerland are among the 34 countries which have IEC youth mobility agreements with Canada.
